The 38CFR helps provide service connection for Veterans with chronic conditions related to active military duty. If you develop a chronic illness within a year of separating from active duty, you could be service-connected for a presumptive condition. Common presumptive conditions are arthritis, kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, ex. If you have any of these symptoms diagnosed, you should be service-connected without any further evidence.
