The gathering of evidence phase is the most prolonged phase in the VA claim process. There are some things to note that may make this phase even longer for some Veterans.

Here are a few things that may prolong the gathering of evidence phase:

– VA needs to verify stressors

– Medical evidence for a current chronic diagnosed condition

– If you were treated privately for your condition and you do not provide the treatment records

– If you were asked to attend a C&P exam and did not show up
