If the VA gives you a 0% disability rating, they are saying your symptoms are not severe enough for your condition to be compensated. This is very different than getting denied for your disability. The advantage of being 0% service-connected is if your symptoms worsen over time, you can start getting paid for that disability without having to prove your service connection.
